TK Maxx look set to finally move to Andover, by taking over Unit 1 Churchill Retail Park, currently occupied by Harveys.
Planning permission is currently with TVBC to add a new mezzanine floor to replace the existing mezzanine and resulting in net
increase of 276 sqm of new retail floorspace.
The document states: “These works are proposed in order to accommodate a new tenant, TK Maxx.”
At the time of publication we are still awaiting an official response from TK Maxx.
Thank you to Mickey Edwards for the update on the news.

Tvbc are pratts, they told Primark to do one.
Brilliant news my favourite shop !!!
Tkmax is a jumble shop clothes are normally everywhere not set out in section all mixed up on rails should have been primark
Isn’t this part of their appeal…. Rummaging for a bargain?
Nooooo, rather have primark. Tk max is a glorified jumble sale.
TK Maxx is good but what we need is shops in town and not just on retail sites some older people are unable to visit these shops
I have to say Christina, I do fear the impact that TK Maxx opening out of town will have on the town centre. Should permission be given for an extension of the mezzanine in the unit in question, the new floor space would be equal to approximately 10 units in The Chantry Centre… I have absolutely no doubt that TK Maxx will be a great success here, however, I am concerned that this will be to the detriment of the town centre. Lots of floor space, ease of access and free parking are very difficult to compete with….
As part of TK Maxx’s arrival, a refurbishment of the retail park will also be carried out. This will involve the creation of 7 new car parking spaces, re-cladding of the warehouse units, the creation of 3 cycle spaces, and general redecorating works. TK Maxx are looking to open in 2015.
Mike is this really happening? Moving into the current building of ‘Harveys’ please confirm regards Angie
Hi Angie, it’s never ever cast in stone, but yes an application has gone in to TVBC. The work will involve a larger refurbishment of the retail park. Some say it’s good news, for others it’s bad, but least we have a business who wants to be here taking over the unit of one that doesn’t want to be here.
i work in the harveys store so when am i about to lose my job then?
Sorry to hear this Angela. Smart4 who are the agents I believe are involved have been trying to dispose of this Harvey’s store for some time. I would prepare for Harvey’s to close around summer 2015. That said, as some consolation, there will be new retail jobs available at TK Maxx an the Approach scheme. Let me know if you want any further information, I will do my best to help. Mike
I want primaney not tkk Max
TK Maxx are denying it and yes a Primark would have been better.
