A new music venue, The Rock House will be opening 10pm this evening (Friday 30th May) at 41 London Street in Andover with a full opening planned next month as further work is completed.
Located opposite Club at Life, the premises previously occupied by an estate agent has been transformed into an American Rock Bar style venue.
“We wanted something a bit different for Andover” said a spokesperson for the venue.
“We’ve been listening to what people like and applying it here – even down to making the cubicles in the ladies bigger than normal” they added.
As you enter the venue you are greeted by the front bar area with the 2 large windows, wooden flooring, a brick bar area and seating. This area will also be serving coffee for non-drinkers and anyone wanting to just use it to meet up.
Up the steps and through the double doors will be the back bar area with another bar and an area for the bands to play.
“The town missed the George when it closed and we aim to fill that gap with regular live music nights. The back bar allows us to do that and have a quieter area at the front still“.
The plan is to have this area open in the next 2-3 weeks and have regular live music nights and events.
Beyond the back bar is the (to be built) garden area which should be open in about a month.
“The garden area will allow us to have people come in from the George Yard car park. We have plans for making the garden a third area so that when the weather is good that can be used as well“.
