Don’t miss this Saturday’s (17th May) Wildlife Discovery Day at Rooksbury Mill Local Nature Reserve, 10am to 2pm.
Visitors will have the chance to pop in to a mobile ecology lab and take part in a host of great activities run by Test Valley Borough Council and The Anton River Conservation Association.
Anyone wishing to get up close to the reserve’s winged creatures is invited to take part in a bat walk at 8.30pm followed by a session of moth trapping.
I for one, cant wait for this. All those little creatures that are right under our noses will be out and about, especially the batty wattys as I often call them which come out at night. And moth trapping?? How exciting! It may prove to be a bit spooky too! You never know. See you all down there, look out for me!
Just though – will I need to bring my own net for the moth catching bonanza?!? Or are they provided?
