Hearing through our on the spot reporter (thanks Liz) that the Winton Ward vote for the Andover Town Council was as follows:
- Khuman 560
- Cleary 337
The turnout was very low at just 13.5% of the potential voters.
Well done to both candidates for putting themselves before the electorate.

I would add my thanks to both candidates for good campaigns on both sides, and congratulate Ron on his win. Also to the officers of TVBC for conducting a well-run election, and to the Chairman of Andover Town Council, Cllr Geoff McBride, for his remarks after the result was announced, in supporting the democratic process that we had been through.
However, the real winner was the Apathy party with 86.5% of the vote, despite every householder being notified of the election, notified of the change of polling stations, and both candidates leafleting 99.9% of the houses in the ward.
When will people realise that if they do not exercise their democratic right to vote, that they have no right to complain about anything they do not like?
That’s brilliant news! Well done Ron! A lovely man at the heart of our community and at last people have seen sense and not voted in that ghastly UKIP party.
