Ever put crisps in a sandwich? Local Mum Clare Kavanagh has before and has confessed all in her recent shortlisted entry in the National Walkers ‘Do us a Flavour’ competition.
Crisp brand Walkers have a nationwide search underway for a new flavour combination, making one member of the British public a flavour millionaire as the final prize and this year Clare from Andover is in the mix.
The competition last ran back in 2008. This year sees entrants asked to create a flavour combination by incorporating one of Walkers’ home grown ingredients, picking from Somerset Cheddar, Devonshire Chicken, Norfolk Pork, Dorset Sour Cream, Vale of Evesham Tomatoes or Aberdeen Angus Beef as a starting point.
Once the six finalists have been chosen their flavour suggestions will be developed by Walkers before being sold nationwide, then the public will decide the winner, with the favourite awarded a £1m cash prize (and the five runners up taking home £10,000 each).
Will her cheesy Pickle Crispwich suggestion make it to the final, local mum Clare said of her entry ‘…who knows, it’s a bit retro, but it might just catch on. Everyone likes a sandwich with a bit of bite, don’t they…‘

As a regular crisp eater i could think of anything more exciting that this, I actually sent a competition idea off my self but my idea was no where near the sheer brilliance of hers.
