A helicopter – possibly a Police one – is currently over the Charlton / Artists Way / King Arthurs Way lakes area of the town. It appears to have been hovering since around 12.20am.
There is no confirmation from Hampshire or Andover Police as yet if it is one of theirs or who / what it is looking for however it has been seen heading to the town area (12.35am).
One unconfirmed report is that it is searching for a missing person around the King Arthurs Way lakes area.

Reports have come in of Police searching King Arthurs Way lakes area, Roman Way, Artists Way, Swallowfields and the river area near to Lloyds TSB. Also reports of the railway track being searched by Artists Way.

The Police helicopter is no longer above the town.
Update 2.25am
Helicopter confirmed as no longer required and has stood down. They also confirmed they were called out to help Hampshire Police and British Transport Police.

Sadly, British Transport Police are reporting a fatality at Andover last night on their Twitter account although no official confirmation yet it is connected to last night’s helicopter search.
Did wonder what it was all about. We had police on foot with torches searching the town cemetery at about 23.30 just behind New Street
