Kit Malthouse has raised the issue of mental health by asking for a debate on mental health provision during a question in Parliament.
Mentioning issues in Andover and the support provided by the local Veterans in Action (VIA) charity, he requested a debate on mental health issues particularly in respect to veterans and young adults.
Posting on his Facebook page, Kit said “I raised the issue of mental health support for young men and veterans on the floor of the House of Commons today. I asked for time to be set aside for the whole house to debate what more can be done. The response was constructive.”
There is also a petition on Change.org calling for “a need for improvement of local support, recreational and mental health services for the youth and young adults of Andover” and currently has almost 1,500 signatures. You can add yours by clicking here.
Well that is good, not only dose he follow Sir George by getting his picture in the local paper, he appears to be doing something to warrant his extortionate salary, as if he needs it.
