Hampshire County Councillor Sean Woodward has said there is no reprieve over the A-Boards but did confirm TVBC are investigating a licensing system.
Hampshire County Council’s Executive Member for Economy, Transport and Environment confirmed that the policy is still that traders have 28 days and that there is still zero tolerance.
He also confirmed that TVBC are investigating a licensing system for the boards and that he had exchanged many e-mails and had a conversation with the Leader and Chief Executive Officer of TVBC.
“Unauthorised display of advertisements on the public highway is a criminal offence. We will take action if we receive complaints” he said.
“Hampshire County Council will consider recovering the costs of removing the signs if the owners do not remove them.”
Tvbc you should be ashamed of yourself out town is struggling let local business advertise this for of advertising has been around for many many year and is an excellent way of advertising a business just picking hairs and out to make more money they pay business rates this should be included in it

For the benefit of Andover and Hampshire on the whole, the local government seriously needs to be changed, they have ruled the roost far too long.

Andover the Villages website are claiming Sir George Young MP has won a victory for the A-Board Campaign and local businesses in their article “Sir George Young MP Wins Reprieve For Business Owners Over A-Boards”. Very odd to be claiming such a victory for the Conservative Party if its not true. Is there an election or something coming up?
Received an email from Sean Woodward (HCC) last night (Monday 12th January) that there was still zero tolerance after their 28 days notice and no reprieve.
