The Pop Up Shop is back! A new tenant is set to move into the successful pop-up shop in Bridge Street on Sunday!
Hot on the heels of last year’s quartet of pop-up shop successes, cooking2cooling are coming to town to share their wares.
Peter Sherwood-Clarke of cooking2cooling, said: “During 2013 we took advantage of the Council’s small business fairs held in Andover High Street to raise our profile with Andover shoppers.”
“This proved a great success, but we were keen to take it further and explore how we could have a high street presence without taking too many business risks.”
“Getting involved in the pop-up shop scheme has provided the perfect opportunity to showcase our huge range of built-in and free standing domestic appliances, as well as a range of smaller kitchen appliances that we already have on display in our larger shop on West Portway, for a longer period in a town centre environment.”
Visitors to cooking2cooling’s pop up showroom in Bridge Street will benefit from the knowledgeable advice available as Peter has over thirty years’ experience in the industry.
Leader of the Council, Councillor Ian Carr, said: “The council’s efforts and partnership working with potential pop-up shop occupiers, Stratfords Commercials the letting agent, and Prosigns UK for signage, have meant that we can continue to provide a valuable opportunity for small, local businesses to test the water in a town centre environment whilst mitigating their risks.”
“Each business occupies the pop-up shop for a three week period, while the unit continues to be marketed for permanent use. This makes practical use of empty premises whilst giving local businesses an opportunity to try out their business in a town centre retail space; building a wider customer audience and adding to the local economy and vibrancy of the town. I am grateful to all parties involved for their support.”
cooking2cooling will be at the pop-up shop at 4, Bridge Street from Sunday 23th February until Saturday 15th March. In the meantime, more information about them can be found at www.cooking2cooling.co.uk
Negotiations are currently underway for a follow-on occupier later in March.
The Council negotiated a pop-up shop in Bridge Street in response to the Government inspired review of town centres by Mary Portas, and in support of the outcomes of the Andover Summit.
