It was another success last night (Saturday 28th July) as 6 local acts took to the stage at the third Costa Coffee Acoustic Night run by Louis and Tony.
In Darklight
Actually it was singer Ben from the band as he played a great acoustic set, playing covers and the band’s own material. Some excellent guitar and vocal work usually hidden behind a bass!
Highlight tracks: Futureless & Superstition

Maddison Douch
Maddison also sings with local band “Keys to the City” and was in the final for last year’s Andover Fairplay. Maddison has a big, rich voice and tackled “Valerie” and “Ironic” very impressively. She also writes some great songs and again, these stood out against even the covers. And Josh did a good job on percussian too.
Highlight track: Love in a Bottle

Max Gifford
Carrying on the theme of seperated from the band, Max plays with local band Talking to Amy who have played Costa Acoustic before. The nerves of being on your own did get to Max a bit but he played a good solid set and is really interactive with the audience between songs.
Highlight track: So Naive

Chasing Daisies
Holly and Laura have doubled in size and become Chasing Daisies. No they haven’t grown bigger, the duo have teamed up with their sisters and are now a 4 piece vocal harmony group. They recently came 2nd in a global talent competition and you can see why Simon Cowell rates them!
Highlight track: Heart Attack

Yasmin Awome
Another singer with a strong voice and very much reminded of Emeli Sande, especially with the keyboard and style of song she played. Yamin played some covers but again tonight, her own written ones I felt were even better still.
Highlight track: Melody of Hope

The Misfits
Two of the guys from The Social Misfits and the oldest to perform tonight – not old but certainly older. The guys played some good guitar based covers and were a good end to yet another night of local talent.
Highlight track: You Came On Your Own

The next Costa Acoustic Night will be at The Lights on September 14th – and am looking forward to it already!

Hi Mary-Jayne. Not sure on age but if you contact Louis at Anton Road Studio (www.antonroadstudio.com) he will be able to help.
