Friday 13th March will see the 4th Andover Sleep Out Event to raise awareness and in support of Alabaré’s Young People projects in Andover at King Arthur’s Hall.
Run by Iris Anderson and John Cockaday from Andover, participants will be raising funds by asking friends and family to sponsor them to spend a night sleeping on a cold hard floor with no warmth or home comforts.
Alabaré hope to raise £1,000 towards work with young people at the Junction, an information, advice, training and guidance centre, and also at Sarum House, their home for up to 18 young people, aged 16-25, who are in need of support.
Individuals and groups are welcome to join in and can sign up online or get in touch for more information:
- Call Iris on 07880 814737 or John on 07765 776861
- Email iris.stmary@aol.co.uk or johnvigo@aol.com
For further enquiries please call Fundraising on 01722 344478 or email fundraising@alabare.co.uk.
If you are not able to join in on the night, you can still support the event by making a donation.
If you are under 14 you can still get involved and help us to raise money for our Projects. How about:
- A Teddy Bear Sleepover?
- A Sleep Out in your back garden?
- A Sleep In with your best friends?
Get in touch with Alabaré if you would like more fun ideas for raising money!
A spokesperson for Alabaré said “If you would like to set up an event at your school, community group, scout or guides group, youth group, church, please get in touch. We can help with resources and may be able to arrange a special visit from one of our fundraisers to cheer you on.”
Alabaré have also provided a “Kit List” which can be downloaded here.

Hi… Can you clarify if this is a sleep out in the Church Grounds or only in the Hall?
