Duke’s Café at Andover and District Mencap’s Wellington Centre had a visit on Tuesday from a number of new people including Iris Andersen.
A spokesperson for the cafe said “It was great to see Iris who popped to the centre for a chat with staff and decided to take lunch at the café.”
Duke’s Cafe was set up for the members of Andover and District Mencap, who have learning disabilities, in order to gain valuable work experience within a catering environment.
The true benefit for the members is the opportunity of them being able to interactive with the local community just as you would, if you were having lunch in the town.
Dukes Café offers you homemade meals and various fillings for baguettes, sandwiches or jacket potatoes and even cake for afters! The prices are very competitive and excellent value for money and the café has a 5 star food hygiene rating from the council.
Dukes Café is based at Andover and District Mencap, The Wellington Centre, Winchester Road, Andover SP10 2EG and is open from 12.00pm to 2.00pm every Tuesday lunch time.
It is open to everyone and members of the public are very welcome. Dukes Café is a great place to meet with a friendly, happy environment with all meals are freshly made and served by their friendly team.
