URGENT TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE
Highways – Temporary Road Closure from Test Valley Borough Council in Test Valley area.
OVERVIEW: Part of A343 Newbury Road, Andover to allow for an emergency bridge inspection.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 that The Borough Council of Test Valley as agent for Hampshire County Council (being the Traffic Authority), owing to an emergency bridge inspection considers that the closure to the road as specified below should come into force without delay:-
ROAD TO BE CLOSED : Part of A343 Newbury Road from a point 10 metres south of the railway over bridge to a point 10 metres north of the same over bridge.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES : From the northern point of closure, North on Newbury Road, west and south on Saxon Way, further south on Redon Way, east on Northern Avenue and north on New Street to the southern point of the closure and in the other direction.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE : From Saturday 20th September 2014 for a period of five days or until completion of the works whichever is sooner. (Notwithstanding the above it is expected that the closure will be required for no longer than 22:00 on Saturday 20th September 2014 to 05:30 on Sunday 21st September 2014).
Reasonable facilities will be provided to allow access to adjacent premises while the work is being carried out.
