The Travelling Cupcake on Bridge Street in Andover has seen sales rise after receiving professional retail consultancy support from Mark O’Dolan.
Organised and funded by TVBC’s Andover Skills Training Fund, Mark reviewed every aspect of the business and prepared an action plan to improve on profits.

Travelling Cupcake owner Bev Botha said “I am absolutely delighted with the honest in depth review of my business as it will help me to further improve my performance. “I have seen a 15% uplift in sales and more importantly a 20% increase in profit.”
“The exciting thing is among other profit making initiatives Mark has clearly identified major marketing opportunities within my business clearly positioning me as a business that bakes its product on site, a take away of quality cupcakes and drinks but also a unique Homely eatery to relax and enjoy fresh food baked and cooked in my kitchens.”
Mark added “The challenge for independent retailers is finding the time to stop and review the business. Ideally they need a fresh pair of eyes that can structively and practically review the business and propose change and identify opportunity. My experience is gained within large retail corporates operating at senior director level and I specifically enjoy helping businesses to improve profit.”
Over the past few months Mark has spent a lot of time in Andover and with his “Mary Portas” style of support he hopes to work with as many retailers as possible with his one to one retail mentoring.
