With the welcome support from Simplyhealth this year, the Anton Rotary Club is organising a Swimathon in partnership with Andover Leisure Centre to raise funds for Andover Young Carers on Sunday, 5th July, 2015.
The event will commence at 2.00 pm and finish by 4.00 pm.
Anton Rotary Club is seeking the support of up to 100 individuals to take on the challenge to swim anything from just one length to up to a mile (64 lengths of the pool) in the Andover Leisure Centre swimming pool. Participants will be seeking sponsorship from family members, friends and acquaintances to raise funds for the Andover Young Carers who do such a wonderful job for their loved ones at home.
In addition to monies being raised for the Andover Young Carers charity, anyone taking part will be able to nominate half their sponsorship to go towards their own charity. For example, swimmers from local swimming clubs can raise money for their clubs and local scouts and guides can raise money for their organisations.
This year local companies are being asked to put in teams and for a fee swim up to four miles within the two hours allocated to this event.
Last year thanks to those who participated £900 was raised for local charities. This year it is hoped to go much further with more money raised for the Andover Young Carers.
Swimmers of any age and any standard are invited to support this event to help raise funds for the
Andover Young Carers charity.
Swimmers will be given the opportunity to select their starting time for their swim at half hour intervals starting at 2.00 pm, 2.30 pm or 3.00 pm. The selection of a time will be made on the registration form which they will be invited to collect from either the Andover Leisure Centre, the partners with Anton Rotary Club, or from Anton Rotary’s web site at www.antonrotary.org.uk by logging on and downloading a registration form; or from either Ben’s Quality Dry Cleaners in Union Street or Crisp & Clean Laundry Services in the Weyhill Road, or send an email to the contact below for a form.
