Lulu’s boutique in Andover is collecting bras to raise money for breast cancer charity.
Deposit your unwanted or unloved bras and they will be passed on to the charity Against Breast Cancer to help raise vital funds for our dedicated research to improve detection and survival.
Against Breast Cancer has teamed up with BCR Global Textiles who help small businesses in Africa, through their textile project they are preventing valuable textiles going to landfill giving them a new lease of life in developing countries across Africa where bras remain too expensive to produce.
When you make a deposit at a bra bank, your illfitting or unwanted bras will be whisked away to start a new life on the other side of the world, where traders support their families selling textiles locally. Successful ventures like this keep many families in developing countries out of poverty whilst providing employment for people at home in the UK. Any bras that are genuinely beyond redemption are dismantled and disposed of properly.
Anybody donating bras at Lulu’s during November and December will be given a £5 voucher to spend in the store*
Lulu’s is a charming boutique selling womens clothing and accessories with a distinctive relaxed style. They sell a number of lifestyle brands including White Stuff, Brakeburn, Braintree and Nomads.
You can find Lulu’s at 9 Waverley Buildings, Waterloo Court – the walkway between the High Street and the Town Mills. Opening hours are 9.30-5.30 Monday to Saturday.
*One voucher will be given per person, not per bra! The voucher can only be used on purchases over £25. Vouchers must be used within 3 months. Not in conjunction with any other offer.
