Police are investigating after a stack of straw bales in a crop field in the East Cholderton area was found alight at approximately 8:00pm last night (Friday 10th July).
The fire was extinguished by Hampshire Fire and rescue, but the cause is unconfirmed at this time.
There was a track though the crop made by some type of wheeled vehicle, which caused damage to the crop and it is suspected that the fire may have been started deliberately. Enquiries are ongoing.
