The Star and Garter in Andover opened on Monday (13th January 2014), unveiling the £1 million year-long refurbishment by new owners CityLodge.
Whilst the hotel was open all day, there were tours around the hotel from 5.00pm to 7.00pm with Mark from owners CityLodge and Ian Pamplin, the architect. By 6.30pm the 35 roomed hotel was full except for a single room with people already in the new bar and restaurant areas.

Inside, the work has been completed to a high standard with the 35 newly refurbished bedrooms, all featuring en suite bathrooms with bath and power shower. The bedrooms also have flat screen TVs with Freeview and free wi-fi.

The main Hotel, Stables and Coach house encircle the old courtyard that which was once the nightclub area. This is also the main entrance from the car park and potentially a sun trap come some warmer weather.

The bar serves bar meals and a selection of real ales including their own Andover Ale which is currently available at £1.99 pint.

Over in the restaurant, they serve breakfast, lunch and dinner which includes a choice of carvery – available Monday to Saturday at £5.99 and £8.99 on Sundays.
