Andover U13 A 20 v Farnborough U13 A 10
In their first ever competitive A team fixture in the Hampshire cup, Barber Lounge sponsored Andover roared to an impressive win against a very competitive Farnborough.
The quality of rugby on show was outstanding for such young players as both teams went at each other hammer and tongs, but in the best of spirits, and in the end Andover proved just the stronger side.
Sean Higgins and Bryn Waite shone in the loose where Farnborough often had the upper hand, but out wide the pace of Dan Beard and Jake Harwood was a constant threat and the sheer ferocity of Callum Barber Starkey, Tommy Lloyd and Ed Bilborough in the tackle stopped the visitors in their tracks.
It was Chris Fiern however who really stole the show with a performance of power and pace that led to a hat trick of tries for him and as Andover finally began to play to their potential, James Rennie showed how dangerous he can be with a well taken final score.
