Andover Town Youth FC 12s Blue extended their unbeaten run as they beat CSA and maintained yet another clean sheet during a recent cup match.
Town’s coach Darren Reeves rang some changes in personnel and in players position’s, selecting from the abundance of talent at his disposal.
The Blues had a now customary slow start but after some early pressure started to impose their game on the home team. CSA, who currently sit top of their league, had to withstand a side high in confidence and full of attacking threat!
The deadlock was broken by Jack Herdman’s bullet header, increasing the momentum for the Blues. The boys then doubled their lead with a goal for Callum Woods with a well taken finish.
A sharp volley by Max Bissett increased the lead further before the break.
At the start of the second half, the four subs were deployed and with no change in dominance, showed the strength and depth within the current squad.
Goal number four was a superb set piece from Man of the Match James Sygrove, producing a clinical free kick from the left.
To complete the performance Joshua Williams scored a quickfire two goals, impressing when moved forward into midfield.
The entire team played their part in what is still an unbeaten run with no goals conceded so far this season. A special mention must go to Cai Jones for earning the Sportsman Award for a composed performance.
The coaching staff feel this group still have work to do in certain areas but have the potential to go as far as they want to this season.
