Smoothers and Shakers Juice Bar Opens in Andover

Today (Monday 23rd June) saw the opening of “Smoothers and Shakers” – the juice and smoothie bar that is the latest occupier of the Pop-Up Shop on the upper High Street in Andover.

Offering a “healthy alternative” the shop sells a range of natural juice and smoothie drinks as well as milkshakes with a dairy free alternative.

“If you can’t see what you want then ask and we’ll try to make it” said owner Dorthe Thomas.

“The idea is to test the idea with the Pop-Up Shop and if it proves popular we’ll make it permanent. We are also only taking cash at the moment but again, we will add card payments if we make it permanent” she added.

The official opening was performed by Her Worshipful The Mayor, Jan Lovell, who not only tried the drinks but tested the Power Plate machines as well.

“They can give you a workout in just 10 minutes, so offer an alternative to rushing to the gym at lunchtime” said Dorthe.

“We are charging £5 for a 10 minute session but you will need a quick induction first, which needs to be done with me on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday.”

The first day looked to be very popular with a constant stream of people popping in to try the drinks. The drinks are proving popular with not just adults as testified by the Carnival Prince and Princesses.
