Would you like to share your memories of RAF Andover? Chris Brammall, the artist developing the Andover Business Park public art installation, is inviting people to contribute memories of the Airfield to inform an interpretation panel for the main art work.
The art work takes its inspiration from the aircraft that flew from RAF Andover and the navigation systems tested there. The main framework for the piece is made up of strong verticals and horizontals which are curved to form an exact segment of a sphere or globe.
Silhouettes of aircraft branch out celebrating some of the aircraft that have flown in the skies above Andover, such as the Hawker Siddeley Andover, the Harrier Jump Jet and the Lockheed P38 Lightning.
Lots of feedback and comments were received at an open event held in June attended by local Councillors, servicemen and local residents, but Chris is keen to encourage more memories and anecdotes, especially if they feature any of the planes incorporated in the sculpture.

The finished installation and interpretation panel will be located at the entrance of the Andover Business Park, opposite the Chalkhill Blue pub. It will reflect the area’s history and provide a focal point for the entrance of the Park. The work will be funded using contributions from Goodmans, the Park developer.
