A sleighful of Santas are all set to fill the streets of Andover and kick off the season’s festivities in the most spectacular style.
Last year more than 200 red-suited, white bearded men, women and children rushed around the town centre having fun and helping to raise money for charity – and this year could be even bigger.
People can run (or walk, jog or even skip) around the mile long event, which is being held this year on Sunday 7th December.
“This is the fourth Santa’s fun run we’ve organised, and they’ve got bigger and better every year,” said Jess Browning from Valley Leisure, the charitable trust which runs Andover Leisure Centre on behalf of Test Valley Borough Council.
“It’s a great event. People have the most wonderful fun, they get their bodies moving and their hearts pumping, and it produces some of the best photos of the year,” added Jess.
The event which starts and finishes at Andover Leisure Centre is suitable for all ages, and everyone is welcome to go at their own pace.
Tickets are £7 for adults and £4 for children and can only be pre-booked online. All participants that pre-book are guaranteed a Santa suit on the day of the event. Pre-booked Santa suits can be picked up from the Andover Leisure Centre reception from 1st December.
This year the money raised will be donated to 3Smiles, SSAFA and Andover Leisure Centre.
3Smiles is a Valley Leisure charity, which supports activities for children with disabilities and development of learning difficulties. The SSAFA is a British based charitable organization set up to help former and serving members of the UK British Armed Forces and their families or dependants.
