Road Trip in Memory of a Friend

September 24, 2013 by Andover Town

On Friday 4th October, learner rider Tracey Brown-Cooke will be riding her motorbike from Andover to Land’s End and back in memory of her good friend Tasha Miles and in support of The Meningitis Trust.

At the end of July this year Tracey’s long-time friend Tasha Miles was taken into hospital with an unknown illness. She was diagnosed as suffering from the symptoms of meningitis and although she fought hard against this disease it proved too strong for her.

Tasha sadly passed away on the 9th August 2013 at 12.20pm at the tender age of 27 leaving behind her family including two young daughters.

Tracey said “I decided at the time to do something in her memory and at the same time raise funds in support for The Meningitis trust. As a keen motorcyclist I choose to combine my love for Tasha and my love for biking in doing this.”

“Although I am still a learner I intend to ride from Andover to Lands’ End and back on the 4th October 2013. I have received fantastic support in the build-up to my challenge and would like to thank you all. Special thanks go to my partner who will be traveling down with me carrying my 12 year old daughter Jessica who is also raising sponsorship by pillion the distance behind her Dad.”

Anyone who wishes to help can see Tracey and her team on Friday 4th from 1.45pm onwards outside The Globe and have pictures taken with the ZOMBULANCE, Tracey and the rest of the crew.

Tracey has also offered thank to:

  • Abaddon MCC
  • Webe Mag Newbury

  • The Globe Inn
