Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service would like to invite members of local communities within the Test Valley area to a series of informal presentation evenings over the next few weeks.
‘Protecting You and Yours’ is a locally driven campaign aimed to provide tailored safety information and preventative advice. The advice will cover various incident types that have historically impacted upon the villages and towns throughout Test Valley, especially throughout the winter months.
The presentations will include the prevention of thatch fires, flood protection, dealing with severe weather conditions and fire safety in the home.
Community Safety Officer Paul Francis said:
“We recognise that when incidents occur many of the Test Valley communities, and more importantly those individuals that are most vulnerable, often become isolated due to their geographical location.”
“The ‘Protecting You and Yours’ safety campaign will provide good practical information to local residents on the simple steps that can be taken to lower the risk of incidents happening and what to do when they occur.”
The campaign will focus on the importance of individual households and local communities being adequately prepared for the forthcoming winter months. It aims to promote an overall stronger resilience throughout the Test Valley Borough.
‘Protecting You and Yours’ presentation evenings will take place on the following dates from 7.30pm to 9pm:
- Wednesday 1 October 2014 -The Millennium Hall, Vernham Dean
