A new vehicle hire reception centre has been officially opened in Andover by Kit Malthouse, the Conservative MP for North West Hampshire.
Abacus Vehicle Hire moved its Motorhome hire fleet to the former site owned by Trim Truk Ltd on Weyhill Road in 2011.
Demand for the hire of trucks, vans, cars and minibuses followed. The purchase of additional 1.1 acre of land in 2012 gave room for the construction of the covered reception centre.

At the ribbon cutting ceremony with Dave Wolfenden, founder of Abacus and Motorhomes manager Jon Clayton, Kit Malthouse said that he is delighted to encourage another successful business to invest in Andover: “I’m delighted to open this new centre it’s a celebration of the success and expansion that Dave and his team have created in just a few years in the town. Its brilliant to be able to support small business and entrepreneurs.”
The company is still recruiting additional full time staff for a number of key roles to help them meet the demand for their fleet of 650 vehicles. Abacus employs a team of 58 people across Andover, the Ferndown hire centre and its sister company Horton Commercials which is a specialist vehicle servicing, bodybuilding and repair facility.
