Midge Ure, front man for 80s band Ultravox, has announced he is to play at The Lights on Friday 18th September as part of the second leg of the Breathe Again tour.
As well as Ultravox, Ure – real name James Ure – has enjoyed success in various bands including Slik, Thin Lizzy, Rich Kids, and Visage as well as co-writing and producing the charity single “Do They Know It’s Christmas?” in 1984.
It has been 20 years since he last toured with an acoustic three piece and this time it will be with acclaimed folk / roots artists Cole Stacey and Joseph O’Keefe, who usually trade as “India Electric Co”.
“As well as the Breathe album we’ll be giving the usual suspects a make over, so you’ll still get to hear the other hits. I’m looking forward to it!” said the singer.
The 57 date international tour kicks off on 19th February in Halifax, Canada and ends on 23rd October in London.
