Hundreds of Santas are set to swamp the streets of Andover this Sunday (7th December) – and there’s still time to be among them.
More than 200 red-suited, white-bearded men, women and children took part in the Santa fun run last year, and it could be even bigger and better this year.
“The Santa Fun Run is one of the highlights of the Christmas calendar,” said Jess Browning from Valley Leisure, the charitable trust that runs Andover Leisure Centre on behalf of Test Valley Borough Council.

“It’s great to see so many local people taking part. There’s a real buzz about the place. It’s a magical, if somewhat slightly surreal, day,” said Jess.
People can run (or walk, jog or even skip) around the mile long event, which starts and finishes at Andover Leisure Centre.
It’s suitable for all ages, and everyone is welcome to go at his or her own pace.
Tickets are £7 for adults and £4 for children and can be pre-booked online or at the leisure centre. Everyone pre-books is guaranteed a Santa suit on the day of the event. Pre-booked Santa suits can be picked up from the Andover Leisure Centre reception before this weekend.

This year the money raised will be donated to 3Smiles, SSAFA and Andover Leisure Centre.
Registration on the day opens at 9am and the run kicks off at 10am with a warm up at 9:45am. For more information, go to www.valleyleisure.com/events. To pre-book tickets, go to www.andoversantafunrun.eventbrite.co.uk.
Valley Leisure organise events, such as the fun run, to help more people become more active and to support the local community.
