Local family run paintball and lasertag centre, Ironsight, have reopened after a devastating fire nearly destroyed the site.
The site which is based at the old Mushroom Farm on Longstock Road in Goodworth Clatford was hit by a storm last month.
Luckily no one was hurt. The site was having refurbishment and expansion work at the time and builders were quick to respond alerting the emergency services.
Paul and Lorraine Dunford the owners were left shocked and devastated by this event.
“We’ve been up here for just over a year and have created a unique gaming environment. I have invested heavily both fiancially and time. To get the call and see the damage was heartbreaking” Paul said.
Thousands of pounds worth of damage was done including to the reception, kitchen and staff room.
Paul didn’t dwell on this destruction but was determined to get the site safely open as soon as possible, and in 2 weeks the site was ready.
Paul said “As soon as it happened there was a big urge to not let this break us, but to get this open as soon as possible. Luckily not a lot of the playing area was affected. We just had to clear debris make areas safe, but now we have made adjustments and are back open.”
“We still have some more work to do, but once everything is, it will be a fantastic site for all to enjoy.”
