This is where they ask people across the UK to hold a coffee morning, where donations on the day are made to Macmillan.

Macmillan Said:
We hope you’ll get together with friends, family and colleagues on Friday 26 September and make time for what really matters. Last year Macmillan coffee mornings held across Hampshire raised a fantastic £400,000 and we want to make this year bigger than ever.
All of the money raised from the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is used to fund services to support people affected by cancer. This year in Hampshire, Macmillan is funding four Macmillan GPs who help to educate peers to aid early diagnosis and improve support during and after treatment, invested over £280,000 to design and build an extension to the information and support centre at Southampton General Hospital, and continues to fund the Macmillan CAB Hampshire wide benefits advice service which helps with the cost of cancer.
These are just a few of the ways Macmillan is able to reach more people affected by cancer in Hampshire, thanks to the generosity of those who fundraise and hold coffee mornings on behalf of the charity.
Macmillan’s fundraising manager for Hampshire, Alice Dewsnap-Smith said, “We are very grateful to everyone across Hampshire who supports Macmillan, we want to make sure no one has to face cancer alone but we can’t do it without the amazing people who fundraise for us.”
“Every pound raised by those taking part in events like World’s Biggest Coffee Morning helps us be there for someone with cancer when they need us most so ask your friends, family or work mates to come for coffee and raise some money to support Macmillan.”
Romsey based firm LSC Facades held their first coffee morning last year after a colleague heard about it on the radio. Marketing Manager Natalie Burnage said; “We invited all of our suppliers to attend our factory in Andover and donate to Macmillan. Staff and family members kindly provided the cakes for us to sell and with the games that Macmillan provided we were able to boost our target. The coffee morning was an excellent networking day for all of our suppliers but not forgetting the reason why we were holding this event.”
“Cancer has affected everyone in some way, being it a family member, friend, colleague or yourself and we wanted to do our bit and help raise money for this fantastic charity.”
“So many colleagues have mentioned that Macmillan Cancer Support have helped their family members in a time of crisis and have been supportive throughout their treatment and afterwards that they would not have coped without Macmillan’s support.”
To get involved all you need to do is sign up and we’ll send you a lovely Coffee Morning kit, full of everything you need for a successful coffee morning. It makes inviting your friends and raising the money really easy, so you’ll find organising your coffee morning as simple as can be.
