The Environment Agency have issued further groundwater flooding alerts for villages around Andover both St Mary Bourne and Weyhill sides of the town.
There are currently two warnings in place covering this area:
- Groundwater flooding in Surrounding Villages of Andover (North West)
- Groundwater flooding in Vernham Deane, Upton and the Bourne Valley
Information for both alerts is as follows:
Groundwater Flooding in Surrounding Villages of Andover
Communities at risk of groundwater flooding to the North West of Andover, including Appleshaw, Hatherden, Penton Mewsey, Redenham, Weyhill Bottom, Kimpton, Amport and Monxton.

Groundwater levels around Andover continue to rise slowly, however the level in Clanville has started to stabilise in the last few days. Some properties in Appleshaw, Hatherden and Kimpton suffered internal flooding at these levels during 2000.
The forecast is for conditions to remain unsettled with an average of 27mm rainfall forecast (maximum 51mm) for the next 5 days. Any significant rainfall will run off more rapidly than usual into already flooded areas as a result of the saturated conditions.
Problems associated with high groundwater levels will persist for many weeks.

Groundwater Flooding in Vernham Deane, Upton and the Bourne Valley
Communities at risk of groundwater flooding in Vernham Deane, Upton and the Bourne Valley in North Hampshire including Hurstbourne Tarrant and St Mary Bourne.

Groundwater levels in the Bourne Valley have remained very high in the last week. Levels continue to be higher than in 2000/01when there was internal flooding in Vernham Dean and Upton.
The forecast is for conditions to remain unsettled with an average of 27mm rainfall forecast (maximum 51mm) for the next 5 days. Any significant rainfall will run off more rapidly than usual into already flooded areas as a result of the saturated conditions.
Problems associated with high groundwater levels will persist for many weeks.
A Flood Warning has been issued for the Bourne Rivulet. Groundwater levels are maintaining high base flows within the Bourne Rivulet and any additional rainfall will only compound the current flooding situation.
Residents should prepare for levels to rise further this week. Properties at risk of flooding are in the villages of St Mary Bourne Stoke, Hurstbourne Tarrant and Upton.
