The upper Guildhall in Andover is set to be given a new lease of life after Test Valley Borough Council recently commenced improvement work.
Enhancements to the building include a major internal redecoration of the entrance hall, stairs, landing, parts of the main hall and Mayor’s parlour. The kitchen and toilet will also be refurbished along with the building’s windows. In addition, work will be undertaken to rectify damp, upgrade fire doors and replace some of the carpets.
Most of the improvements will be completed by 24th February but work to refurbish the windows will continue after this date. The project is part of the authority’s ongoing commitment to rejuvenate the town, and will ensure the building remains a popular venue for community events, weddings, business meetings and more.
The venue is available to book seven days a week, including bank holidays, for private, concessionary and commercial hire. More information about hiring the Guildhall is available at www.testvalley.gov.uk/venurehire.
