After the recent setback over funding, the Breakers CIC Project has been awarded £25,000 as part of the Community Asset Fund.
As part of the scheme, applicants can submit bids for 50 per cent of the cost of a project, up to a maximum of £25,000 and is open to:
- Voluntary groups / not for profit organisations
- Parish or town councils
- Management committees of community buildings
- Schools (for facilities with formal open community access)
Anji Gillies from Breakers CIC said “This is really good news for the project. The grant was a bit of a setback but we are getting there and are currently looking for people to be part of the committee and help with fundraising.”

The Community Asset Fund was launched on 6th December 2013 by TVBC and aims to award grants four times per year. For more information and to apply, see the TVBC website.
