As people wrap-up their wreaths and take down their decorations, Test Valley Borough Council will be on hand to help recycle real Christmas trees.
Pine needles may be turning brown but residents can stay green by dropping off their trees at one of the following disposal sites:
- Homebase, Enham Arch Retail Park, Andover
- Andover Garden Centre, Salisbury Road,Andover
The sites are provided for real Christmas trees only and will be in operation until Sunday, 12 January 2014. Residents are asked to remove all decorations and non-compostable items before disposal.
For those registered with the garden waste collection service, the council can collect whole Christmas trees. Trees over six feet high should be cut in half.
Environmental portfolio holder, Councillor Graham Stallard, said: “By now, your real Christmas tree will probably be looking a little sorry for itself, so why not give it a new lease of life by recycling it? You’ll find a variety of recycling sites across the borough so there should be one or two close to home.”
