British Transport Police have confirmed this morning that a man died at the incident yesterday (Sunday 26th April) when it was reported a person was struck by a train.
A British Transport Police (BTP) spokesman said “BTP officers were called to the line near to Andover rail station on Sunday, 26 April after a report that a person had been struck by a train.”
“Officers from BTP and Hampshire Constabulary attended the incident, which was reported to BTP at 7.21am, and is currently not being treated as suspicious.”
“Medics from the South Central Ambulance Service also attended but a man was pronounced dead at the scene.”
“A file will be prepared for the Coroner.”
