The woman behind the re-opening of Breakers in Andover was recognised as a Community Champion as part of the “Halifax Giving Extra Awards” yesterday (Friday 27th February).
Mother of two Anji Gillies impressed the independent panel of judges for the Lloyds owned bank to be one of only 67 winners of their local awards in 2015 for her tireless work to fundraise and unite local residents behind the popular venue.
Breakers finally opened again on Friday 21st November last year and has become a popular destination for all ages.
Anji was presented with her award at the Andover branch of Halifax by Local Director Nick Clarke and Branch Manager Michele Lunn.
“I was very excited to win the award but it was only possible thanks to Jim and the volunteers” said Anji.
“Lloyds Group is focusing on local communities instead of national events and Anji is a well deserved winner” said Nick Clarke.
You can nominate someone you think deserves the award by picking up a leaflet in the bank or by using the link below to nominate online.
