Businesses in Andover town centre are currently being canvassed to ask for their support in helping Andover bloom brighter and better than ever this summer.
Test Valley Borough Council is offering local businesses the opportunity to help make Andover burst into bloom this year by part-sponsoring a floral display such as a hanging basket or floral tower with a contribution of £50. The baskets and towers will be supplied and maintained by the Council and are in addition to the planting already planned.
Leader of the Council, Councillor Ian Carr said: “The council already provides a number of floral displays, planters and hanging baskets around the town, but this year we want to bring even more colour to our streets and make it a bumper display.”
“As part of the Andover Summit initiatives, the town centre is already seeing changes, most recently with the introduction of trees to the High Street and Bridge Street. The aim is to increase the visual appeal of the area further with a vibrant summer display of flowers and greenery – helping to make Andover a nicer place to visit; encouraging people to stay longer and shop more.”
