Andover to Waterloo Trains Disrupted This Morning

July 21, 2015 by Andover Town

Trains between Andover and Waterloo are being disrupted this morning due to an incident at Wimbledon.

The incident is reported as “due to a person hit by a train” – at present there is no news on the person involved.

Trains into London are being terminated at Basingstoke whilst trains from London are starting at Woking.

South West Trains Update at 8.22am

Owing to a person hit by a train between Clapham Junction and Surbiton all Suburban lines are blocked.

Train services running to and from these stations may be cancelled, delayed by up to 120 mins or revised at short notice. Disruption is expected until 11:30 21/07.

Emergency services are dealing with an incident between Clapham Junction and Surbiton. Significant disruption is expected this morning for all services heading into and out of London Waterloo.

Services on site report that the affected lines should be open by 0830, after which trains will once again be able to run. Services will remain disrupted for the rest of the morning while we recover from the incident. Raynes Park station will remain closed until further notice.

The South West Trains network between Basingstoke and London Waterloo is extremely busy, please note that crowd control is in place at many stations. You are strongly advised to use alternative means of transport this morning.

We are very sorry for the delay to your journey this morning.

Cross Country, First Great Western, Southern Railway and Transport for London services are conveying passengers via any reasonable route until further notice. London Overground services are conveying passengers via any reasonable route until further notice. Thameslink services are conveying passengers via any reasonable route until further notice.

Many services this morning are being cancelled. You are strongly advised to seek alternative transport options this morning.

Passengers at Vauxhall and Clapham Junction are advised to take a London Underground service or Southern trains service respectively to complete your journey.

Passengers at Wimbledon are advised to pick up a London Underground service to complete your journey. Please note that Wimbledon Trams are currently not in operation due to planned engineering works.
