Andover Road Runners has undergone a massive overhaul and is now geared up as never before to guide and support all levels of runners.
This rejuvenation means that there is a place for everyone who wishes to run or improve their running.
Andover Road Runners is now divided into six groups in order to concentrate on individual needs but in such a way as to enable each runner to migrate effortlessly between the groups, so there is no need for anyone to find themselves ‘trapped’ at a level where they feel uncomfortable.
Jean Taylor, who has been coaching runners for the past thirty years, is a highly motivated coach who loves to help people develop their abilities and achieve their goals. Jean is more than willing to help and advise all who wish to train with her, starting with a chat about personal goals and working through the various levels with individuals.
There’s a group for everyone within Andover Road Runners, from Absolute Beginners to Elite Runners and programmes that cover the specific training needed by the individuals within each group.
No matter the reason you want to run, they have a group for you:
- Taking part in low-key runs such as “Race for Life”;
- Taking part in longer 10km race;
- Looking to progress your running to gain good times in races or indeed win them;
- Looking to improve your fitness;
- Wanting to lose weight;
- Just enjoying the social aspect of belonging to a group of like-minded people;
The club is also offering free Taster Sessions so that people can experience the training with no obligation to join. You can book Taster Sessions by calling Jean on 01264 324626.
The training sessions are based at the Charlton Sports and Leisure Centre and the club meet on Mondays and Thursdays by the far end of the running track.
