A community procession through Andover town centre featuring banners and placards with optimistic slogans generated by the public will start today at 4.00pm from The Lights.
Organised by the team at Chapel Arts Studio (CAS), you are invited to “come along and help celebrate the way optimism persists despite all the reasons it shouldn’t.”
A spokesperson for CAS said “This is an event for everyone in Andover, and their friends and families, on Saturday 20th June 2015 – meeting outside the Lights theatre for a 4pm start. We will parade together along the High Street for a short light-hearted march. With your help we can make this a BIG and memorable event.”
Many of the placards, signs and banners for the Andover March for Optimism were created at the Bureau of Exchange pop-up shop in Union Street with Peter Driver, one of the artists involved in the project, also running workshops in local schools.
This will be the second March For Optimism, the first one took place in Winchester in 2014.
