After its successful debut outing in March, the bumper Andover Farmers’ and Crafts Market is back in the High Street on Sunday 18 May from 10am to 2pm.
Visit the market and browse and gain inspiration for mid week meals; stock the cupboards with local, wholesome products; pack a picnic basket with tasty treats or add that individual touch to the home or garden. Over fifty stalls will pack the High Street with a wide range of produce and crafted goods.
There will be something on offer for the gardener, the gourmet, the craft enthusiast or just those who are looking for something a little bit different.
All of this will be set against the back drop of music in the Time Ring from the Andover Museum Loft Singers and a traditional barrel organ.
Hot food will be available from Hog Roast at Greenfield Pork and home-made burgers from Oaktrack Smallholding.
Leader of the Council, Councillor Ian Carr, said: “The Andover Farmers’ and Crafts market is a key event in the calendar aimed at keeping our High Street busy and vibrant and attracting people to the town. It provides local people with the opportunity to shop locally and support local businesses.
“The first of these new Andover Farmers’ and Crafts markets in March increased the number of visitors to the town by 28% compared to figures for a similar event the previous year, and we hope to continue to build on this success over the summer.
“18 months on from the Andover summit, we remain committed to finding ways to encourage people to shop in Andover and for businesses to flourish. Initiatives range from a programme of markets to special annual events, from small business grants to pop-up shop opportunities.”
