The A303 Noise Reduction Scheme has been given the go-ahead by Highways England for a further section of the A303 around Andover to be resurfaced.
Leader of TVBC, Cllr Ian Carr, said “I have now received confirmation from Highways England (new name for Highways Agency) that the A303 between the A343 Hundred Acre Corner and the A3057 junctions, east and west bound carriageway, are to be resurfaced in ‘Thin Surfacing’.”
“I have asked for clarification that this is the full lengths of the carriageway not just sections and once Highways England confirm the extent of the works, I will let you know.”
Thin surfacing is a quieter surface than the traditional hot rolled asphalt and there are already sections of the A303 around Andover that have this type of surfacing.
The works are scheduled for between the 19 May 2015 and 18 June 2015.
