Team North completed the London Marathon today (Sunday 26th April 2015) raising £3,843 for Enham Trust.
Having now run the London Marathon for Enham for the last three years, including with his mother last year, Cllr Phil North assembled a crack team of his father, Paul North, and sister, Shell Smith, to take on the challenge again this year.
Paul and Shell were competing in their first marathons, while Phil finished in just under 4 hours, bettering last year’s time by a whole 16 minutes.
Cllr North said: “It is a privilege to represent the village of Enham Alamein and I am so pleased we were able to play our part in raising money for such a fantastic cause; supporting independence, choice and control for disabled people.”
Shell Smith said: “It was a great day and whilst incredibly tough the thousands of people that line the streets of London carry you to the end. We really appreciated the support of the 9th Andover Brownies and 20th Andover Guides who cheered us on from the roadside and help raise so much money.”
