New Store Coming to the Chantry Centre

April 15, 2014 by Andover Town

A new store and an expansion of an existing one are happening in the Chantry Centre as Poundworld are set to move in and Hamlins Toys expand by moving to the former McDonald’s property.

Due to open Autumn 2014, Poundworld will be taking over the multiple units converted to one opposite Waterstones whilst Hamlins Toys will vacate their current store and take over the multi level unit opposite.

This move will then allow a possible 20,000 foot “flagship store” where it, Nat West Bank and a currently empty unit are.

Thank You
A big thank you to Martin for updating us on this.

      Hi Alex,

Do you mean that they are going on one of the roadside plots and Andover Business Park (where the Coop distribution centre is)? The only other possible site I could think of near there is the old Peugeot dealership?

Great. Free coffee in Waitrose and then a trip around Poundworld, what more do chavs need!!! As a matter of interest was there not a Poundworld in Chantry Centre previously, opposite Sports Direct?
Or am I getting confused with another pound shop?

Typical… We spend a fortune on renovating the bus station and yet there’s nothing to actually come here for! Well at least we’re making it a more attractive place for people to leave via bus! Would be nice to have some places to buy clothing for all members of a family other than from a supermarket!!

Who thought another pound land was a good idea a department store is required Andover used to have three and the town dose require one also i might
Andover is bigger than Winchester we need to improve the quality not try to shift bulk and provide cheap tat. Andover couls make use of its history but we dont for some unkown reason I work in the town and in my opinion another store like that will drive people off.

We can moan and groan as much as we like about the endless takeaways ,pubs, betting shops and cheap pound shops because at the end of the day this once proud town formally known as Andover is now known locally as PRAMDOVER and caters for these people . Come on you must have seen them.
