They closed Bere hill off completely so we were marooned but i was told we could get in and out on the new surface if we needed to which begs the question why did they totally close the only entrances if it wasn’t necessary. It was absolute chaos when people arriving home at the end of the day to find they couldn’t get into their road and had to park anywhere.
The height of the new surface now means all the drains and manholes are quite low so its like the road is now covered in potholes which we didn’t have before! I know the letter we had through the door said the surface would look unfinished until it had weathered in and been driven over but it seems to be taking far longer to settle then what traditional chipping methods used to take.

What a waste of taxs payers money. Why not get a proper road surface put in rather than a cheap budget one!!

During the last fortnight in our local area (Hedge End Road) we have been subjected to the constant noise of roadsweepers (even on a Sunday morning at 7:30am) lorries going up and down, hooters, noise and then the ridiculous signs that say a road will be closed and then they don’t turn up and decide to turn up two days later causing havoc for all concerned. We have had no bus service for two days 20/21 March as our bus route involves both Leigh Road and Dunmow Roads which were resurfaced together! The road service left afterwards is disgraceful and looks worse than it did in the first place and why resurface Charnwood Close when it didn’t need it? No thought for the disabled and elderly that don’t drive and rely on public transport. Shall I go on? I realise that roads have to be resurfaced but why close whole roads at at time, can they not do a contra flow system and keep open one lane? Now we face Old Winton Rd being shut, no bus service again and Chantry street where the 4/4A Bus stop is located what happens if you shut this road. Hampshire County Council you are wasting money and in the autumn you’ll cut our bus service because you’ll say you have no funding for it and yet you can waste huge amounts covering roads in a sticky mess that didn’t need it!
