URGENT TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURE
OVERVIEW: Part of Belmont Road in Andover for emergency repairs to a collapsed sewer in the carriageway.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 that The Borough Council of Test Valley as agent for Hampshire County Council (being the Traffic Authority), owing to repair works in connection with a collapsed sewer in the carriageway considers that the closure to the road as specified below should come into force without delay:-
ROAD TO BE CLOSED : Part of Belmont Road, Andover from its junction with Belle Vue Road to its junction with Belmont Close.
ALTERNATIVE ROUTES : From the western point of closure, south on Belle Vue Road/Dunmow Road, east on Hedge End Road, north on Leigh Road, west and north on Farrs Avenue/South View Gardens and west on Belmont Road to the eastern point of the closure and in the other direction.
PERIOD OF CLOSURE : From Monday 22nd September 2014 for a period of five days or until completion of the works whichever is sooner. (Notwithstanding the above it is expected that the closure will be required for no longer than all day from Monday 22nd September 2014 to Friday 26th September 2014).
Reasonable facilities will be provided to allow access to adjacent premises while the work is being carried out.
