A new shop came to Andover on Friday (4th April) as “Upcycled” opened its doors, having taken over the white-fronted shop opposite the Chantry Centre entrance in the Upper High Street.
The business is mainly quality second-hand and antique furniture, collectables and useful household items which are priced to sell, with prices start from £1. It also specialises in wooden framed quality furniture, vintage 1930-1970 items and specialised individual items.
Owner Nathan said “All beds are either pine, oak framed or ornate metal. Through one of my other business ventures, I also import French furniture from Paris and the Normandy region of Calvados. The Andover shop will be stocked with good value French furniture and collectables.”
Opening hours will be Tuesday to Saturday from 10.00am till 4.00pm however they may stay open longer during the lighter Summer evenings. They will also offer local delivery for a small fee, for example £5 in Andover.
Upcycled has been trading for a year and a half in Salisbury, however they have signed a three year lease on the current property after Nathan had viewed it previously.
He has also said he is impressed with the town. “Andover so far has been an uplifting experience. It was lovely to have a councillor pop by the shop on Friday to thank us for opening. I have never had such a reception – certainly not in Salisbury!!”
“We have just moved in and have a sign on order that we will be putting that up as soon as it arrives.” he added.
