Andover based amateur eventer Nicki Strong has been awarded with a new sponsorship deal for 2015.
Nicki will be flying the flag for hemp horse bedding firm Aubiose Ltd throughout 2015, alongside Kent based professional showjumper and producer Biba McCaul.
Nicki, 30, competes both on the unaffiliated circuit locally as well as eventing to BE100 with her ex-racehorse Pha Mai Blue. She switched her three horses onto Aubiose this winter.
She said; “Working full time and having three horses can be very demanding – especially on the pocket and on your time! I needed a bedding which was cost effective, quick to muck out, yet still comfortable for the horses. Aubiose gave me all of those things – the real lifesaver for me is that you only take out the wet once a week which saves valuable time before work.”
“It has the absorbent properties I liked about wood pellets, but combined with the luxury look of a deep shavings bed so you really get the best of both worlds; I hope I can encourage many more people to give it a try. It’s a huge boost to be working with Aubiose – I love the product.”
Aubiose UK Sales Manager, Sparsholt College graduate Juliette Connor said; “Over the past year sales have been really picking up as more people are experiencing the benefits and spreading the word. Supporting our two chosen riders seemed a great way of giving them a leg up in achieving their equestrian goals this year, as well as helping to raise even more awareness of our product.”
“Our bedding is used and loved by both professionals and amateurs alike, so it was really important to us that our sponsored riders represented both sectors.”
Aubiose is made from 100% natural, organically cultivated hemp, and works by soaking up liquids in a small area, at the base of the bed. The capped layer that forms over this saturated material reduces the chance of wet bedding being mixed in with the dry. The top layer of the bed remains warm, soft and dry for the horse.
