Enham Trust welcomed Sir George Young Bt CH MP as the charity’s president on September 1st 2014.
As the Member of Parliament for North West Hampshire since 1997, Sir George knows the charity well and has been a keen supporter for many years, most recently attending the unveiling of the oak sculpture “Moving On” in the centre of Enham Alamein earlier this month.
Professor Khalid Aziz LVO DL FRSA, Chair of Trustees, commented: “Enham Trust is embarking on a new phase of its development and I am delighted that Sir George has accepted this position as our figurehead and our leading ambassador. We look forward to his being involved for many years to come, helping us to promote our cause and advocating on our behalf.”
Sir George said “I am delighted to accept this honorary position; Enham is an inspiring charity whose work focusses entirely upon supporting disabled people to live the lives they choose. Enham Trust has been making a difference to the lives of disabled people for over 90 years by supporting them to explore opportunities through their own personal development, housing options, and employment so that they can exercise individual choice and control in their lives.”
