For Year 11 students yet to decide what they’ll be doing and where they’ll be studying next September, there is one final opportunity this year to visit Andover College to see if the future lies there. The college is encouraging all Year 11’s and their parents to put Wednesday 19 November 2014, 6.00pm to 8.30pm in their diaries.
Principal Tim Jackson said “This is the final Open Day of 2014 so for any Year 11’s who have yet to decide on their destiny after school, then we urge them to come along with their parents and find out about the courses we have to offer.”
“Ofsted rated teaching and learning in our Creative and Performing Arts department, which covers all courses in art, design, performing arts, music and music technology, as ‘Outstanding.’ All other areas were commended for their high standards (rated ‘Good’). As well as Year 11’s finding themselves the right course they also need to give serious consideration to finding themselves the right college.”
Ofsted also noted that the support students receive here at Andover focuses on their general happiness and well-being – very important factors for academic achievement and success.”
Open Days are perfect for speaking to lecturers, finding out the detail of the courses and the careers they could lead to. Current students are also on hand to share their experience of studying at the campus. The entire College will be open, including the Sixth Form Academy which offers more than 40 A Levels taught by talented and experience staff, delivered within excellent facilities.
Those looking for a more hands-on course will enjoy a tour around the vocational based training facilities, all of which are designed to provide an industry equivalent training environment. These include a number of professional Hair and Beauty salons, construction workshops, Motor Vehicle department, a Music Academy, Performing Arts theatre and a Sports Department which boasts its very own football stadium.
Pop along on Wednesday 19 November, 6pm to 8.30pm and see how Andover College can help prepare you for a successful future. Please call 01264 360000 or visit www.andover.ac.uk for further information.
